WEEK 3
Crystal Growth
i decided to change my theme to a more manageable one that being Crystal Growth. My initial theme being reactions seemed misleading for what i originally wanted do. Crystal growth seems more suitable because the them already has some kind of building element to it which i also want to include with my experiment.

WEEK 2 FURTHER RESEARCH
From the 3 themes i chose, this example would have to be the most interesting to me. The image about is a old party trick were you would have milk and food coloring in a bowl, with the addition to dish washer liquid you would get a explosion of random patterns created by the food coloring. i found it interesting how each liquid had a reaction to one another and had decided the theme of reactions would fit well with the assignment.
After thinking of a good search term i could use to find building that i could use as a example for my theme the word wave was the most prominent one to try first. i link above shows the works of Japanese architect Toyo Ito and features facade where is tries to mimic sea waves. For the assignment i would like to try a mimic some form of liquid, giving a sense of freeform in the geometry.
Keeping to my theme i found this image of ink and water. the reaction of both liquids not being able to mix shows a blobs and wavy lines. i figure this would be a good concept for when i start my assignment having this type of form and geometry would have in my opinion a great result.

WEEK 1 GRASSHOPPER EXPERIMENTATION
My first impression of grasshopper really did intimidate me, the process of creating a simple rectangle was very daunting to me because of what models we are expected to produce by the end of the semester. Week 1 all i did was experiment with the parameters getting familiar with the program. once i get my hands on rhino i can have time at home to play around with the program.
